Open since October of 2019, Alberto Garcia and his father Wagner Garcia bring traditional Caribbean recipes that were enjoyed and learned since childhood. Wagner is originally from Venezuela; his mother and his grandmother would travel to Cuba for work, returning with knowledge of Cuban ingredients and recipes to cook for their family. "My dad owned restaurants when I was growing up, so I started working as his bus boy when I was young and then began serving and bartending". As Alberto got older, he stepped away from working with his family and began learning the industry through hands on experience in the Portland metro area. After a decade apart, the father and son teamed up to open Bistro Cubano. "We wanted to come together to share the recipes, ingredients and love for our cuisine with the community".
We use only the freshest, highest-quality ingredients in our dishes, sourced from local farmers and suppliers whenever possible. We believe that using fresh, local ingredients not only makes our food taste better, but also supports our community.
